CHANDIGARH, INDIA - NOVEMBER 04, 2015: Sculptures at the Rock Garden of Chandigarh, it is a sculptur

My hometown Chandigarh is a fabulous place with beautiful and famous attractions like many temples, museums, a lake and more. There are many famous parks in the town too. The names of some of the popular among people are Bougainvillea Park, Rock Garden, Shanti Kunj, Fitness Trail Park, Children's Traffic Park but most famous and the oldest is Rock Garden. It is also known as Nek Chand's Rock Garden after its founder Nek Chand Saini. It is a 40-acre sculpture garden famous for figures that have been sculpted from industrial waste and cast-away items like bottles and bangles, tiles, ceramic pots, sinks and other scrap materials. It consists of man-made interlinked waterfalls and many other sculptures that have been made of scrap and other kinds of waste like bottles, glasses, bangles, tiles, ceramic pots, sinks, electrical waste, broken pipes, etc. which are placed in walled paths. There is also a Doll Museum inside Rock Garden. The museum holds 200 rag dolls made from waste cloth. The dolls were made by Nek Chand in the 1970s.

The garden was inaugurated in 1976 as a public park. Visitors flock to the park in the thousands every day to marvel at the beauty of the garden and its slightly eccentric work of art. Would you like to visit some day?
