Mexican pico de gallo from tomatoes, onions, cilantro and jalapeno pepper close-up in a bowl and nac

I believe salsa has become my Signature Dish because anyone who tastes it often says to me it is delicious.  Some say it is yummy, and some say it tastes very good. People often surprisingly ask me "Did you make it?" "Yes, and I made it from scratch" I replied. Every time I see the impressive reaction from people, I am so proud of my dish. I don’t measure exactly all of the ingredients, I just mix them and then taste it and add more seasoning if it is not tasty enough.

I believe that this dish is healthy, is a kind of probiotic,  is vegetarian and it is easy to make. (10-20 minutes)

Salsa

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of chopped tomatoes (or canned diced tomatoes)
  • 1/4 cup of chopped green pepper (or 1 green Jalapeno without seeds)
  • ¼ cup of chopped onion
  • 1 tsp of fine chopped garlic
  • 1 tbsp of chopped cilantro
  • Seasoning quantity or to taste
  • 1 tbsp of vinegar
  • 2-3 tsp of hot sauce or Mexican sauce
  • 1/8-1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of ground black pepper

Method:

  1. Put all of the ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Stir and put in the fridge for an hour to make the ingredients blend together.
  3. Serve with tortilla chips.

Additional Tips:

  • You can add some Tex Mex cheese on top of the salsa and microwave for about 40 - 50 seconds.
  • You can add plain yogurt and diced avocado in that salsa to make delicious guacamole.
