Seasonal

people walking around - snow on ground

Canada is the second largest country by area in the world. Canada has severe weather and very long winters. It could last from November to April with heavy snowfalls and a few snowstorms as well.

I live in the northern part of Ontario and here we get more snowfalls than the southern part of Ontario. Sometimes it’s so depressing when you get that much snow and can’t do much outdoor activities. Everyone has to dress warm with three to four layers of gear to go out. The temperature varies from -1 to -45 in some areas.

Some people enjoy outdoor activities in winter like skiing, ice fishing, ice hockey and doing Christmas shopping. Sometimes light snowfall looks pretty while looking out of the window. People try to stay at home as much as they can during winters.

There are two things I really like about winters as people celebrate Christmas and Halloween during this time. During Halloween, people dress differently and kids go door to door to collect candies.

Shopping malls are really busy as people shop for presents for their friends and family members. The most enjoyable part is to see Santa during Christmas. I like to take pictures with Santa. It brings a smile and happiness for the kids. Although it’s a fictional character, I like the idea of spreading happiness and bringing smiles to others faces.
