Self-Improvement

do more written on napkin beside cup of coffee

We are living in 21st century and can see a lot of gadgets, artificial Intelligence, technologies around us. There was nothing like that 20 - 30 years ago. All of these were created by other people. By people that we can read about in newspapers or hear on TV. Who are these people? Are they geniuses? Possibly. Are they from another planet? I do not think so. I do not have 100% answer, but I’m definitely sure that they are not lazybones. Thousands of hours were spent for education. Hundreds unsuccessful attempts were on the way to the goal. Let us look at a small calculation:

If you do a little bit less than you should for one year (let say one percent less every day) 0.99^365 = 0.02551

If you do a little more that you should during one year (let say one percent more every day) 1.01^365 = 37.7834

As you can see, these are totally different numbers. it’s only one percent more that you should do.

Additionally, how many disputes I heard about homework at school or university. As per my opinion, the homework is this one (even more) extra percent. Typically, teachers don’t have enough time to provide all information they want. But they can show the correct way how to find this information. If you know how to do it and you have a willingness or desire to progress – this is the key to success. We shouldn’t be better than others. We have to be better than we were yesterday.

A lot of us know that self-improvement is very important, but do we really do this extra percent every day?
