Mexican handmade pinatas

I would like to talk about a wonderful experience I had when I taught how to make pinatas to a group of newcomers in a community centre at the request of the centre. Pinata is made of decorated cardboard. The first time I bought cardboard, paint, and tissue paper to make a pinata without any experience of making it, I discovered a technique on my own that produced very good results.

After becoming good at making them, I started making my own pinatas for family and friends, mostly on birthdays. I was really excited when the community centre in my neighbourhood asked me if I would like to show the technique to a group of participants.

My neighbourhood community centre supports newcomers in Canada in the city where I live. They wanted to organize a workshop on "How to Make Piñata". The centre asked me if I would like to give a presentation on this topic that would be easy to understand because the people taking the workshop are new in Canada. Some do not speak English. I worked hard to prepare the presentation and made some pinatas to show them.

Finally, the day of the presentation came and to my delight, it was a huge success. I felt very proud to share something from my culture and a very good technique. I loved seeing the faces of the people excitedly working on the pinatas. In the end, the result was many beautiful piñatas and many smiles that filled my heart.

My teacher asked me to share my experience because she listened to me with enthusiasm and she helped me with my presentation. Thank you for all your help, teacher.
