Canada

Person jumping towards their future

I arrived from my country, Peru, four years ago, and for almost all four of them I lived in Ontario. We went there in search of our dreams because it is one of the provinces most chosen by immigrants. In particular, Toronto is a very cosmopolitan city. Some dreams like buying a house are difficult to achieve there due to their high costs. There is a lot of job competition, and there are many professionals applying for every job. It cannot be denied that it also has benefits, but they were not a priority for us.

After four years, we decided to live in Calgary, in the province of Alberta. When we told our friends that we were going to Calgary, they looked at us with pity. They asked us, "Are you crazy!?" They told us that some things would be more difficult, such as finding a good job, and the education in schools is different. In addition, they told us that there is very little food. They also said that we would get bored because there were not many alternatives to distract us.

Now that I live in Calgary, I can verify that everything they told us is false. Calgary is a beautiful city with mountains all around it. It has amazing nature. Winter is hard, but we have sun almost every day. My husband found a good job. The houses are affordable. We were able to buy one and stop paying high rent. People are friendly, and there are good schools for our son.

When I go to the supermarket near my house, I can see the mountains. The view is spectacular, and I feel closer to nature. This reminds me of my country, which also has beautiful mountains. There are many beautiful places to visit and many activities to do. I hope to visit more places when summer arrives and continue to get to know this beautiful city and its surroundings.

I think that all the provinces of Canada offer you the opportunity to have a quality life. All have positive things and challenges to face. In general, Canada is a beautiful country to live in.
