I was born on June 15, 1969 in Belo Horizonte, State of Minas Gerais, Brazil. My family comes from different places in the country. My father is from the state of Ceara, and my mother is from Southern Brazil. We are descendants of Germany and Portugal. I have a good mix of blood!

I have two siblings. I have a brother Andre and a sister Tatiana. I am the oldest of them. In 1992 I graduated in Civil Engineering and I had good opportunities to work in big companies and that gave me experience working with costs, estimates and construction.

I am married and I have one daughter, her name is Flora and she is 19.

When she was 15 we traveled to Europe to celebrate her birthday. We went to England and France and now we are planning another trip to celebrate her 20s. We are thinking of going to Scotland and Ireland.

In 2018 we moved to Canada with the goal to have more safety a better quality of life. I started to study English 5 months before our arrival here. I used to study 8 hours a day, 5 days a week to help me with my new life.

I began my English class at MAGMA at night and in the mornings in a church close to my home, 3 times a week. That really helped me a lot.

My daughter is studying Biochemistry at Dalhousie, in Halifax and my husband, Fernando, works at Atlas as a structural designer in Moncton, NB.

I work at Kent DC (Distribution Centre) with the Irving Group as an assistant but to improve my English I decided to work as a customer service associate where I could talk by phone and in person trying to solve the customer's issues. This was a great opportunity to practice my English.

In September of 2021 we bought our house in Saint-Antoine, NB, a small city of 1800 habitants. It is very close to Moncton, just 30 minutes by car. The bonus of living in the countryside is that we can have a big forest as a backyard and receive visits of foxes, rabbits, pheasants, deer and so many birds. Life here is so calm and friendly. Everyone knows and helps each other. We will live in Saint-Antoine for many and many years.

For my family and I, the decision to leave Brazil and come to Canada was the best choice and we are really happy and grateful to be and live here.
