Ramadan for Muslim people is when Muslims fast for 30 days because it is a religious practice to feel united with poor people and to do good things for others especially making donations to the less fortunate is very popular during Ramadan. Eid, which means festival, and the day that marks the end of the fasting period, is a three-day government holiday. It is when families are happy to get together and enjoy the celebration.

Family members start their Eid day by praying at the mosque in the early morning, men, women and children wear new and traditional clothing. After praying together, people hug each other and express good wishes. The celebration continues with eating traditional sweets, candy and chocolate in the mosque. It is customary to give money and treats to the children to make them feel happy and then they can buy whatever they need. Also, the parents take their children to the playground to spend some time watching them play. This depends what time of the year Eid happens, for example in the winter children won’t go outside but meet and play with their friends and relatives indoors. In the evening family members get dinner together and watch movies. Most of the activities are finished by day one especially with busy working parents. Other families continue celebrations on the second and third day as well, especially large families who have relatives they visit outside of the city.

Overall, Ramadan month followed by Eid festival celebrations are the happiest and most popular among Muslim communities. Everywhere in the world, poor people get donations and celebrate with others as well.
