I would like to talk about a few bad experiences I have had with contractors. They have given me “snow jobs” a few times. They were either not honest or they didn’t finish their jobs properly.

I had a bad experience once with a plumber. I wanted him to extend the pipes to separate the washing machine and the dryer. He told me he could the job and also extend the wire cable. People I knew recommended him so I trusted them and left him alone to work. After that, I checked what he had done and the pipes were leaking. He left a lot of mess around his workspace. He also overcharged me for the work. Finally, we made a deal about the amount. I told him I would not use him again.

My other bad experience was with a duct installer. I wanted to replace some ducts so I hired a workman. He stalled for a long time before he finally came to give you a price.

Then he disappeared for a short while. After that, I reached him and he promised to come, but never did. I called other duct workers but they never showed up either.

In conclusion, I have learned to do some home projects by myself. I now know how to install ducts like a professional. I taught myself!
