Canada

Let´s get the ball rolling. I would like to talk about my recently visit to Port Dover, an amazing place located in Ontario, Canada. I guess that the place just fit me to a T during the summer.

The port’s name comes from Dover, England. In the early 1800's, Daniel McQueen created the village of Dover Mills about two miles north of Lake Erie. The village was burned in 1814 by Americans, but it was rebuilt. Over time, Port Dover became known for its fishing industry. As you see, that place is part of the powerful Canadian history.

Tourism has always been a strong industry in Port Dover. If you are craving an Arbor hot dog or an afternoon at the beach, this is the place for you. When my husband and I went, the restaurants were filled with people enjoying Lake Erie perch and pickerel. We ate at the Restaurant Beach, and the food was delicious. We also had the opportunity to visit the chocolate store called Cocoa Cabana, with the best chocolate and coffee in town. Important to mention was the ice cream store with a variety of unimaginable ice cream flavours. Even though that day was bone-chilling cold, we had a great time, and would definitely return at the next chance. So, if you want to enjoy summer, and at the same time learn about Canadian history, I strongly recommend the place. Do not think twice and go visit this nice town.
