Here is some vocabulary from this edition. Do you know what the words mean?

admonish
to tell someone severely that they have done something wrong

agrarian
relating to farming or farmers

brisk
quick and full of energy

cozy
a place that is cosy is small, comfortable, and warm

demonstrate
to protest or support something in public with a lot of other people

dock
a place in a port where ships are loaded, unloaded, or repaired

douse
to stop a fire from burning by pouring water on it

drench
to make something or someone extremely wet

epicentre
the place on the surface of the Earth that is right above the point where an earthquake begins inside the Earth

fashionista
someone who is very interested in fashion and who likes the very newest styles

fundraiser
an event that is organized to collect money for a charity, political party etc

harbinger
a sign that something is going to happen soon

herdsman
a man who looks after a herd of animal

nostalgia
a feeling that a time in the past was good, or the activity of remembering a good time in the past and wishing that things had not changed

novice
someone who has no experience in a skill, subject, or activity

portrait
a painting, drawing, or photograph of a person

potluck
a meal in which everyone who is invited brings something to eat

progressive
supporting new or modern ideas and methods, especially in politics and education

protagonist
the most important character in a play, film, or story

trauma
a mental state of extreme shock caused by a very frightening or unpleasant experience

typhoon
a very violent tropical storm

union
an organization formed by workers to protect their rights

visceral
beliefs and attitudes are the result of strong feelings rather than careful thought
