Here is some vocabulary from this edition. Do you know what the words mean?

anxiety
 the feeling of being very worried about something

apprehensive
worried or nervous about something that you are going to do, or about the future

bondage
the state of having your freedom limited, or being prevented from doing what you want

compulsory
something that must be done because it is the law or because someone in authority orders you to

coronation
the ceremony at which someone is officially made king or queen

diaspora
 the spreading of people from a national group or culture to other areas

drastic
extreme and sudden

errand
a short journey in order to do something for someone, for example delivering or collecting something for them

estuary
the wide part of a river where it goes into the sea

freckle
mall brown spots on someone’s skin, especially on their face

herbivore
an animal that only eats plants

inflatable
an object has to be filled with air before you can use it

insecticide
a chemical substance used for killing insects

memorable
very good, enjoyable, or unusual, and worth remembering

mulch
a substance that you put on the soil to improve its quality, to protect the roots of plants, or to stop weeds growing

nickname
a name given to someone, especially by their friends or family, that is not their real name and is often connected with what they look like or something they have done

panorama
an impressive view of a wide area of land

parched
very dry, especially because of hot weather

portage
when people carry small boats over land from one river to another

rigorous
careful, thorough, and exact

surreal
a situation or experience that is surreal is very strange and difficult to understand, like something from a dream

unruly
violent or difficult to control
