Here is some vocabulary from this edition. Do you know what the words mean?

adrenaline
a chemical produced by your body when you are afraid, angry, or excited, which makes your heart beat faster

apocalyptic
connected with the final destruction and end of the world, or with any great destruction

apprentice
someone who works for an employer for a fixed period of time in order to learn a particular skill or job

clueless
having no understanding or knowledge of something – used to show disapproval

conviction
(n)  a very strong belief or opinion

cooler
a container in which something, especially drinks, is cooled or kept cold

cozy
small, comfortable, and warm

daunting
frightening in a way that makes you feel less confident

hazardous
dangerous, especially to people’s health or safety

highlight
(n) the most important, interesting, or enjoyable part of something

incompetent
not having the ability or skill to do a job properly

knob
a round handle or thing that you turn to open a door, turn on a television etc

lichen
a grey, green, or yellow plant that spreads over the surface of stones and trees

pessimistic
expecting that bad things will happen in the future or that something will have a bad result

reconciliation
to become friendly with each other again after quarrelling

resume
a short written account of your education and your previous jobs that you send to an employer when you are looking for a new job

uninhabitable
a place that is impossible to live in

upsurge
 a sudden increase

versatile
having many different uses

Vikings
a member of the group of Scandinavian people who sailed in ships to attack areas along the coasts of northern and western Europe from the 8th to 11th centuries

vital
extremely important and necessary for something to succeed or exist
